Ceylon Pedal 2025 Officially Announced

Ceylon Arugambay proudly announced the launch of Ceylon Pedal 2025, marking the beginning of what promises to be a transformative event for Sri Lankan adventure tourism. The expedition’s mission of promoting eco-tourism, cultural unity, and healthy living has already captured the attention of both local and international communities.

Ceylon Pedal Media Conference 2025

The first media briefing of “Ceylon Pedal 2025” – an international mountain cycling expedition organized by Ceylonus Pvt Ltd and Rapid Migration Pvt Ltd, aimed at promoting tourism attractions in the Northern and Eastern regions of Sri Lanka – was held at the Lighthouse Galley Hotel, Colombo.

The briefing was led by Mr. Pathum Akalanka, the Managing Director of Ayu Lanka Hospital Group and Chief Organizer of Ceylon Pedal 2025; Mr. Anuradha Jayasinghe, Executive Director of Ceylonus Pvt Ltd and Rapid Migration Pvt Ltd; Mr. Rohan Wijesundara, Chairman of Rapid Migration Pvt Ltd, who is coordinating with Sweden for this event; and Mr. Peter Sjögren, the Swedish coordinator and team manager of this cycling expedition.

The Ceylon Pedal 2025 journey will span 508 kilometers, beginning on June 14, 2025 from Jaffna, proceeding through Mullaitivu, Kokkilai, Vellai Oya, and Pulmoddai, and reaching Trincomalee on June 18, 2025. The team will spend June 19 and 20 exploring the city of Trincomalee. On June 21, the cyclists will resume their journey, passing through Kalkudah, Batticaloa, and Sangamankanda Point, and concluding the expedition on June 25, 2025 at Arugam Bay.

Over the course of 12 days, this cycling tour will not only showcase the natural beauty of Sri Lanka’s northern and eastern coasts but also promote these regions as premier tourist destinations to the international community. The Ceylon Pedal 2025 is expected to make a significant contribution to the promotion of tourism, especially in the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka.

Official Press Conference in Jaffna!

Today marked a significant milestone for Ceylon Pedal 2025 as we held our Opening Press Conference at the beautiful Gate Trees Hotel, Jaffna, officially kicking off this international cycling adventure!
This special event was graciously organized by the Northern Province Tourism Bureau, with the presence of their Director, who extended his full support and shared insights on the regional importance of this initiative.
The press conference highlighted the goals of Ceylon Pedal 2025 to promote Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern tourism, strengthen international friendships, and showcase our island’s natural beauty and cultural richness.

Today, the organizing team of Ceylon Pedal 2025 had the privilege of meeting the Governor of the Northern Province at his official office, accompanied by representatives from the Swedish delegation.
 
The Governor expressed his strong interest and appreciation for this international cycling initiative aimed at promoting regional tourism, cultural connection, and community engagement especially in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.
His assurance of support and willingness to coordinate with relevant authorities will be instrumental in making this event a success.
We sincerely thank the Governor for his encouragement and partnership in strengthening Sri Lanka’s image as a warm, welcoming, and globally connected destination.
 

Ceylon Pedal recently held a productive meeting with key stakeholders and international collaborators to discuss the upcoming Ceylon Pedal 2025 event. The session, which took place in a formal setting, brought together organizers, local authorities, and foreign partners to align on goals and strategies for the next edition of this pioneering cycling adventure.

The meeting focused on sustainable tourism development, community engagement, and promoting Sri Lanka as a premier destination for experiential travel. Discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration between local governance and international participants to ensure a meaningful and impactful event for all involved.

A bicycle ride organized by Eylon Pedal Tourism Institute with the aim of reinforcing the tourism industry in Sri Lanka centered around the North and Eastern provinces on these days. A bike ride from Jaffna to Arugambe with a group of Swedish national tourists

Started yesterday (18) in Jaffna, approached Trincomalee by yesterday afternoon and Eastern Province Governor Mr. Jayanta Lal Rathnasekara had a friendly discussion with the tourists. Mr. Priyantha Malawanna, President of the Eastern Provincial Tourism Bureau also joined there. We were thankful to the tourists here for their terrific efforts to make the tourism industry in our country and had a friendly discussion about Sri Lankan and Eastern tourist areas sharing their experiences.

The tourists here commented that they are allowing their Sri Lankan tourism industry to hype, programs like this in the future, and working to hype the Sri Lankan tourism industry in the world.

The bike ride started in Jaffna and is going to end by travelling through Trincomalee, Seruwila, Kalkuda to Arugam bay.

Aiming to improve the tourism sector in Sri Lanka, the cycling tourism organized by Eylon Pedal Tourism is happening in the northern and eastern provinces today. The cycling journey from Jaffna to nearby started yesterday (18) in Jaffna and reached the Trincomalee yesterday afternoon with the Sweden tourists group. Honourable Governor of Eastern Province Jayanda Lal Ratnasekara engaged in a pleasant discussion with the tourism team. President of Eastern Province Tourism Bureau Priyantha Malavenna also joined the discussion. In this, the tourism team thanked for their efforts in improving the tourism department in our country, sharing their experiences with them and engaged in a pleasant discussion about the tourism areas of Sri Lanka and Eastern province.
